This revolutionary technology made it possible to connect people throughout the world. The first cell phone was manufactured by Motorola in 1973, and was shown to the public a decade earlier. It was a touchscreen phone and also the first GSM phone. In the following decade, cell phones became ubiquitous.
Among the first commercial cellular networks, the 1G Generation was set up in the Nordic region. In the same year, the first hand-held mobile phone is released by Motorola, which had an hour of talk time and eight hours of standby time. In the same year, BT introduced British Telephone Sockets. In 1982, the FCC approved AT&T’s proposal for AMPS and allocated the 824-894 MHz band to serve the new system.
