Cell phones have come a long way in the last century. The advent of mobile phones changed how we communicate, live and work. A smartphone combines the best features of a traditional phone with the added convenience of being mobile. Smartphones have become ubiquitous and a necessity for many people. However, not all smartphones are created equal.

The first mobile history of phones timeline hit the market. The iPhone was a game-changer with its unique features. Its creation and marketing by Steve Jobs and Apple rocketed the company to success. The iPhone also changed the way we thought about phones. It paved the way for more interesting phones in the future.

Despite the numerous advances that came about through the years, the cell phone was the first one to be manufactured commercially. This revolutionary technology made it possible to connect people throughout the world. The first cell phone was manufactured by Motorola in 1973, and was shown to the public a decade earlier. It was a touchscreen phone and also the first GSM phone. In the following decade, cell phones became ubiquitous.

Among the first commercial cellular networks, the 1G Generation was set up in the Nordic region. In the same year, the first hand-held mobile phone is released by Motorola, which had an hour of talk time and eight hours of standby time. In the same year, BT introduced British Telephone Sockets. In 1982, the FCC approved AT&T’s proposal for AMPS and allocated the 824-894 MHz band to serve the new system.
